Monday 28th April
As the days grow warmer and spring showers nourish our course, the Greens Team has been working hard these past couple of weeks to ensure the course is playable and ready for the peak summer season.
The team applied a light dressing of 6 tonnes of top-dressing to the greens and fed them with a spring granular feed, giving them the nutrients for promoting growth.
The sorrel-roller has made an appearance aerating the top 2 inches aiding better drainage and airflow.
The tees have also received a feed, but this is a slow release, while the rough and semi-rough areas around the greens have received a granular feed.
“Time to let it grow.”
The team have been busy cutting regularly, including the greens, tees, fairways, aprons, and rough. Also, strimming has begun around tees, sheds, and banks, ensuring that these areas are tidy. The 15th and 11th ditches have also been strimmed for both appearance and accessibility.
The bunkers have received much needed attention. These areas have been weeded and cleaned, and their faces have been edged.
The team has been dealing with some mole hills and damage caused, with additional top dressing to the 14th tee added to re-level the surface.
The trenches from the recent irrigation work have also been filled, along with a little sprinkle of hope for some growth.
The yardage posts on the tees have undergone maintenance and repairs, and the ball washers have also been topped up. The OOB pots and red and yellow penalty area posts have been painted.
The Greens Team are committed to providing a beautiful and enjoyable playing experience for all members and guests.
Please continue to repair your pitch marks, repair/refill your divots, and rake your footprints out of the bunkers.
Thank you, and enjoy the course
