Once again age has proved no barrier to winning this week's seniors competition and our octogenarian,
Steve, has done it again. Our Vice Captain, John, is also proving a doubty competitor in Division 2.
Chew Stoke will be resounding to the cheers of Roger Hill, once again! I am told that there was one
"senior moment" with one gentleman casually walking up the 2nd fairway carrying his Driver, only
to discover that he had left his trolley way back on the tee!!
Div. 1

2nd D.P.Thompson 37

Div. 2

In the first of the Turkey Trot competitions, a Three Man Texas Scramble, the standard was set very high,
only 0.2 separating first from second. It was very pleasing to see David Philbeam take first prize after
his hard work in running the Stragglers this year. Incidentally the Stragglers have new shirts available
at only £12 and it is hoped that all the players will wear them to matches.
1st Henry Banks, Ray Smith & David Philbeam 56.2 nett
2nd Bob Clark, Doug Thompson & Brain Carter 56.4
3rd Pat Meatyard, Hugh Glandfield & C. Roe 57.6.
Our Open Bowmaker is fully subscribed, as are the remaining Turkey Trots in October. Members are reminded that if they want to put up for the Committee the list will be closing soon.
