1. Out of Bounds
a) Beyond the middle of any boundary bank or hedge
b) Beyond the line of white posts to the left of the 1st & 6th holes
c) The garden, putting green, car park & Clubhouse grounds.
NOTE: All hedges, fences, including barbed wire fences, are an integral part of the course and the ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable (Rule 28).
2. Water Hazards (Rule 26)
Denoted by Yellow stakes
a) The ponds at the 2nd, 4th & 18th holes.
b) The drainage ditch parallel to the 15th fairway.
c) The rushes in front of the 3rd tee.
3. Lateral Water Hazards (Rule 26)
Denoted by Red stakes
a) The lake to the left of the 15th fairway & ditches by the boundary hedges of the 13th, 15th & 18th holes.
b) The ditch to the right of the 11th green.
c) The ditch to the left of the 14th green.
4. Ground Under Repair (Rule 25-1)
a) Areas marked by white lines.
b) Hoof marks or wheel marks.
5. Ground Under Repair Play Prohibited (Rule 25-1)
a) All Winter greens & Winter tees when not in play.
b) The practice areas between the 9th-10th fairways & to the left of the 2nd fairway.
6. Staked Trees & Bushes
If such a tree interferes with a player's stance or area of intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b(i) (Immovable Obstruction). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted
7. Fixed Sprinkler Heads
All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. in addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole , the player may obtain relief, without penalty as follows: If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which a) is not nearer the hole, b) avoids such intervention and c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.
8. Roads & Paths & Walls Around Tees
All artificially-surfaced roads, paths & walls around tees are immovable obstructions (Rule 24-2 applies).
9. Stones in Bunkers
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies).
10. The Wall on the 12th
Is an integral part of the course.
11. Brown Posts & Ropes & Railings
Are immovable obstructions.
12. Starting Holes
Players may start at either the 1st or 10th holes, but must alternate with players coming from the previous green.
Are not permitted on the course or in the Clubhouse, with the exception of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
14. Grass Cuttings
All mounds of grass cuttings are to be regarded as waiting for removal, therefore if a ball lands in such a mound a player is entitled to relief without penalty.
15. Dropping Zone on 6th Hole
A ball coming to rest within two club-lengths of the 4th green when the player is playing the 6th hole, must be lifted & dropped within the designated dropping zone.
16. Dropping Zone on the 18th Hole
A ball coming to rest on the path at the rear of the 18th green or against the sleepers, use the dropping zone.
Penalty for Breach of the above Local Rules
Match Play - Loss of Hole.
Stroke Play - Two Strokes
